Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear?

Please dress appropriately for predicted weather conditions, as we will be gathering in an open air park. There is no dress code. If you are running or biking to the Memorial, running and biking apparel is considered appropriate.

What should I bring to the Memorial?

The Memorial and Tree Dedication will be in an open area without seating. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chair or blanket if they prefer to sit. In lieu of flowers, all are encouraged to make a donation to one of the charities listed on the Donations page.

Where can I park? [UPDATED]

Parking is available around the lakefront area. There is also limited street parking in the neighborhoods around the park, and near the Open House location. Some locations may require a fee which can be paid via mobile-pay app and pay stations. Be aware that some streets may be designated as Permit Parking Only during certain hours. For longer parking (many streets are limited to 2 hours) we recommended the Church Street Self Park on Church Street (or enter on Clark St.) between Chicago Ave and Hinman Ave. There are also two other lots in downtown Evanston. Info on all three parking lots can be found on the City of Evanston Website.

What if there is inclement weather?

In case of severe weather conditions, we will hold the Memorial at the Open House location (please RSVP for info). Please check this webpage for updates as we get closer to October 1st.

What if I prefer to attend the Open House or the Memorial?

About Cornelia Lunt Park

Cornelia Lunt Park is situated steps away from the Evanston lakefront that Jeremy loved so much. The park includes beautiful views, mature shade trees, and an historic watering station from Evanston’s horse and carriage era. This is where Jeremy's memorial tree will be planted.
